Hard to believe a week has passed already and we're only as far as Minnesota. That's not like us. We've done round trips to places farther away in less time. It's been a nice pace so far.
This morning Kathy did a couple loads of laundry while we prepared for the day. When that was done, we unhooked the RV umbilical cords and headed into Bemidji. Our son, Jeff is now a transplant Golden Gopher/Viking/Twin and said Paul Bunyan was in town.
Sure enough! Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox is there on the Lake Bemidji waterfront. Lake Bemidji is the first lake in the headwaters that become the Mississippi River.
Across the street is "Downtown Bemidji".
I asked Kathy if she wanted to go over there. She didn't hesitate and said "sure"!
It was a trick. Just "by chance" we ended up at...
Yup...a quilt shop. Imagine that.
I went through several dozen other shops in town while she shopped the quilt shop.
Fortunately, we needed to get groceries and finish the laundry so Kathy limited her time in the quilt shop to a mere half-life.
Kathy got groceries while I gassed up the RV. We made it back to the KOA and filled the propane, dumped the tanks and finished the laundry.
Ready to move on tomorrow morning.
A special event is planned.
Stay tuned.
