Day 11 - Glasgow, MT

Oh dear...another time zone.  Tonight it is going to be difficult to stay awake past the 6 o'clock news.

We continue on our trek across the plains.  Today's destination is Glasgow, Montana.

We headed out quite early this morning.  The bath house at last night's campground was closed between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.  I wasn't waiting around for that to open.  I showered last night.  Like I said, the natives run a better casino than a campground.

Anyway, onward.

We travel around Lake Sakakawea to get back on US-2.  It's the usual rolling landscape.  As we near the Montana border, the smoke haze in the air begins to become much more apparent.

It's hard to tell how much was fog vs. smoke in areas.

But there's a lot of something in the air.  There's a band of white/blue sky off the horizon everywhere and straight up is crystal clear blue Montana sky.

It's all hard to capture on film but visibility is good for probably 2 or 3 miles and beyond that, it gets real hazy.

Because we gained an hour at the ND/MT border, we arrived in Glasgow, MT a little after noon.  I pulled in and gassed up the house and pulled into the parking lot of the highlight of the day.

I thought that sign covered all the bases.

Kathy took off for the door.  I enter the one on the left.

Cherry Chocolate Chip in a waffle cone.  That should hold me over until she gets done shopping.

I finished my treat and went in to see if Kathy was still alive.

Yup.  She's OK.  So much to look at.

Kind of looks like the last place I was in.  What makes this cloth any different?  I tell ya, it's an illness.

Kathy finished her buying and we went to find our resting spot for the night.  The "Shady Rest".

Kind of sounds like the senior home.  We stayed here on our way home a year ago and found it to be a good place to stay.  It's clean with all the amenities we require.

So tomorrow the trek continues.  Lots of driving is in the plan to FINALLY get to the mountains.
