Today’s
trek sneaks us just across the Oregon/California border to Crescent City, CA. It’s a trip of about 135 miles that took three
quarters of a day to accomplish.
We
stopped at several turnouts along the route to shoot some photos. Oregon provides excellent access for places
to get out of traffic and view the scenery.
Here’s
a series of photos I shot along the way at several of the stops.
These
are shots from a point called “arch rock point”.
This
was our lunch spot at a place called “whaleshead”.
We
made a brief stop at a quilt shop today but I stayed with the RV as the parking
was marginal for my 8’ wide “car”.
We
crossed into California where we had to stop for an agricultural inspection and
found our way to an RV park in Crescent City, CA. It’s an RV park that really wants to be a
parking lot.
The
manager at the RV check in said we could walk a block and see the seals in the
harbor…which we did.
These
critters are NOISY. They were constantly
barking. It would get annoying after a
bit.
After dinner, I walked over to the harbor next
to the campground. It's a different kind of boating world around here
compared to the Great Lakes. This marina was destroyed by a tsunami in
2011 and is all new since then. The docks ride up and down with the tide
on the posts with the white caps.
Tomorrow
we’ll cover another couple hundred miles down the California coast.
