Day 5

Seems that every day starts out with so much promise.  I woke up this morning to another great sunrise over Suttons Bay.

The bay was glassy calm.

But storms were in the forecast so we beat a path toward our next destination, Elk Rapids, MI about 17 miles SE into the east arm of Grand Traverse Bay leaving Suttons Bay in our wake.

It was a smooth ride in Suttons Bay.

But the smooth ride was short lived.  We again ran into nasty water when we cleared the point in the photo above.  Photos were not shot on our ride across the bay as I was intent on keeping the boat upright.  It wasn't the most pleasant ride, but we found our way into Elk Rapids.

And to one of our favorite slips in all the marinas that we visit.  #58.  It's at the end of the pier immediately next to the marina park and just a block to downtown.

Then, normal vacation weather hit.  RAIN!

It only lasted maybe 30 minutes but looked threatening off and on all day today.

We're at Elk Rapids for a couple days now.  Hopefully, the weather improves.
Stay tuned to find out.
