On the 12th day of travel...
This was a get out of the heat day. We're finished looking at rocks and are now headed north. The weather in the Zion Park area is over 100° the next few days. We weren't planning on spending any more time there but that kind of forecast sealed the deal.
We drove west out of Springdale, UT.
and encountered the usual scenery to keep us entertained along the way.
As we progressed west, then north, the mountains turned into mesas which gave way to valley plains.
We spotted a wild fire along the route south of Cedar City.
It appeared to get more intense as we drove on, so Kathy informed me. I couldn't see it very well in the RV mirrors.
So, we're taking a little break from the travel for a day and are settled in at a campground nestled between the hills near Nephi, Utah south of Salt Lake City. Our next destination is Jackson, WY and the Tetons. That's a stop we've enjoyed in the past and are looking forward to the return visit.
